With a number of these now in service I thought I'd start a thread that people can keep up to date as time goes on. Those that have survived to the UK are -:

    1631 - GCRN undergoing restoration
2138 - GCRN source of spares for 1631
2253 - Operational at Dartmouth Steam Railway
3278 - At Churnet Valley undergoing restoration by Batt Holden
    5197 - CVR returned to service 2017
    5820 - KWVR returned to service 2014
    6046 - CVR returned to service 2012

5197 is expected to haul all our Easter services

6046 is currently having all her superheater elements replaced before she goes on tour for the summer. Before that though, she and '97 will operate together on our Cauldon Branch following their debut together at our Winter Steam Gala.

I thought there were three (or bits of three) at the GCRN and sure enough Wikipedia (that ever reliable source) quotes 1631 (Alco 70284, MAV 411.388), 2138 (Alco 70620, MAV 411.380) and 2364 (Baldwin 69621, MAV 411.337) with the latter listed as "chassis only".

I couldn't say how accurate this is or whether there are enough bits to restore two of the three locos rather than just one.

Does anyone know whether the issue which prevented 6046's appearance at the GWSR Gala has now been sorted and whether it is still due to appear at the Mid Norfolk Railway gala next weekend? Thanks in anticipation.

Visit now cancelled. She comes off her wheels tomorrow to complete repairs, so no chance of making it to Dereham this weekend!
