This now seems to be doing the Forth Bridge - any suggestions on best place to view it going across?

South or North bank better and I presume from the East for the light?

    Many thanks

That doesn't make a great deal of sense. Even the RTC wouldn't be so daft as to plan a GB trip so that the steam loco couldn't go on its own to Kyle. Anyway, there will now be two suitable locomotives at Inverness so, crews and NR permitting, there is nothing to stop both of them taking the train to Kyle that at many levels would be far more sensible.

This is my favourite spot on the south side. It's all "going away" but it seems to work: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/idld.srf?X=314790&Y=678455&A=Y&Z=120&lm=1

There used to be a shot up here, but I think it might have been built over recently: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/idld.srf?X=313375&Y=680690&A=Y&Z=120&lm=1

Still this is a far cry from where we were Last year when loco availability was a major issue. 46100, 44871, 45690, 45699 that was it.

From RTT it looks like a diesel will drag the stock into Queen Street and will then be dropped off at Craigendoran Junction, then return to Dumbarton. The reverse happens with the return journey.

Right then: bags packed, camera batteries fully charged, Good Beer Guide in glove box; off I go! See some of you along the way, no doubt. First shot Offord Cluney, before the new road spoils it...

There is a path that goes around the Carlingnose viewpoint on a much lower level to the houses at that spot, and it may be possible to climb up the hill to gain height for the shot. I've been meaning to check myself as it's only a mile down the road!

Fast run to water stop with this silly schedule. Speedy. Pass Hitchin to stop well inside even time.
