    Correct on track circuits

    AR - arm repeated.

    LR - lamp repeated.

Points 12 and 16 are indeed motored, so no separate FPL, and 14, as a trailing point, does not have a Facing Point Lock.

The 'L-shaped' symbol marks the end of a track circuit.

Someone appears to have painted out the letters GWR on Stogumber Station notice boards. Sacrilege!!

So what about been replaced with WSR or B&E as both of these owned the line in the past before it become part of the GWR.

Robin - is that process allowed for in the signalling (i.e. are there subs or shunting signals provided) or is it a case of 'green flag' past the Inner Homes and Starters?

(Some of this signalling seems to have stuck despite the years since I was a signalman).

    Thanks

    Steven

Sorry - see this has been answered and the answer is yes - note to self - read all posts before making post I had meant to make yesterday!

Judging by the lack of reply "someone" may well be at the station at this moment repainting the signs now the black coat has dried.

My money would be on the correct pattern cast iron letters being installed.

    Jeff

    Is there a prize?????

You, most likely, are "in the know" Jeff. But for those not so, the question might be "of which letters would be the correct pattern be made?" :D

Oh indeed. And my assumption was that we were not talking about the current layout but about a situation where there is no Down Inner Home, so the Down train stopped at the Home is still in the section, and in order to attach to it the loco would have to pass the Up Section Signal at Danger.

In the rulebook I'm familiar with there is no provision for instructing a loco to pass a section signal at Danger in order to attach to a train in the section, other than when recovering part of a divided train; there is also no provision for instructing a loco to pass a section signal when a train has been accepted from the other end of the section; Rule 96 can only be applied within station limits; and there are no provisions for dividing a train within a section which would apply in this context.

Major Peter Olver (of blessed memory) was against too many signals being provided and is correctly quoted as having said 'sometimes you have to use the green flag'.......

Patience is a virtue. I am told that I am entitled to a little mystery these days. All will be revealed shortly.

Or you could just come for a ride on the WSR and see for yourself!:)

    Thanks Robin

That all makes sense to me.

Is the 'T' inside a circle a track circuit symbol as well?

Any idea what engines are likely to be in steam this season: thinking of calling down maybe in July...

I will. I was down for all 4 days of the SSG and will be there for FS and the ASG. I may also pop in sometime soon.

53808, 53809, 6960, 44422, 7820, 7822 are all likely to be in steam at various times this summer. I believe 5199 is due to leave early June.

It appears that CF is correct and must advise that the Maybach Memories services scheduled for Saturday 20th May with D1010 have unfortunately had to be cancelled primarily due to "double booking".
Apologies to all who were planning to attend.
It is hoped it will be possible to arrange an alternative date later in the year to compensate.

Double booking? Does it mean D1010 is still out for photoing if not passengers
