I forgot about that. Which locos at Crewe are fit and ready to run?

Royal Scot or Braunton are I think the only two mainliners active from the Hoskings Group at the moment. Then again looking on the Statesman Rail website in the specific details for each Fellsman (which are all sold out btw) it quotes.............

The train is steam hauled throughout and the locomotive will be chosen from the historic pool of engines based at Carnforth including: LMS Royal Scot 46115 ‘Scots Guardsman’ – LMS Jubilee 5690 ‘Leander’ – LMS Stanier Black Five 44932 – LMS Jubilee 45699 ‘Galatea’.

I had many a ride behind the 8f on the Fellsman tours so not a problem on the mainline in Network rail eyes !

Statesman mentions the Carnforth pool of locos for the Fellsman tours being used on their website .

Received an e-mail today promoting the Dalesman. Shows a picture of the K1 on the Jacobite entitled "On the Settle to Carlisle line, Beasdale Tunnel." Hmm.

I believe when Statesman was sold it was stated that 2017 WCRC would continue to provide motive power from the "10A Pool" and stock for the 2017 season.
    Great report from Shep Wooley.
I do find when I steward a tour on the WCML there is normally something that needs my attention in Coach A (or J) around about Tebay!

In what way is sharing a direct communication from the company "speculation"? It may turn out to be wrong information but it is factual, for the time being.

I might be reading the West Coast web site incorrectly, but as of Wednesday evening, the homepage and Dalesman page both state S&C both ways for the Chester runs as far as I can see?

Still showing over Shap for me Ian but different set of dates for both routes by the look of things but it is confusing until you click on the route section from Chester. 46115 was being coaled this morning after being turned to face South so Mondays run maybe :)

Ah yes, the route page still says Preston, Lancaster & Carnforth. But the homepage and Dalesman pages both say S&C both ways. Have they always been like this I wonder, and it's just been poorly put together.

So much for the 8F being used, 13 over the S&C will be interesting.

Isn't 12 behind a class 7 loco over Shap supposed to be the limit?

Actually 11 I think, but the limits are advisory

I think it was 46233 that was out of gauge at Settle junction so it has to be assumed the Carnforth pool are in gauge David .

Maybe steam added to rear at Carnforth then via Clapham to Hellifield, steam leading northwards, diesel dropped? Saves an LE pathing?

The outbound on 13th June shows the water stop at Langwathby. The return is Appleby as normal.

Presumably, this is due to it being the horse fair week at Appleby, though in 2015, 46115 was down to do the same on the return and called at Appleby as normal.

Doubt it Danny as surely the tour from Chester with the 37s will just take the Farrington turn off to get to Hellifield with steam then on at Hellifield .

That's not what RTT is saying for 13 or 27 June outbound. It's saying via the Little North Western, passing Settle Jct at 1107 and 1207.

Whether an LE movement from Carnforth to Hellifield gets added remains to be seen.

Better set your alarm clock an hour earlier Ralph.
