It will be a long day, leaving Solihull just before 07:00 and getting back just after midnight, with a 45 minute drive getting to / from Worcester - certainly the longest day out I'll have spent on a charter. Good thing I have no plans on the Sunday!

It should definitely be worth it though. The outbound path looks the best, once we leave the Oxford loop we'll have 1hr 40mins of non-stop running, whereas on the return the longest non-stop section is the 53 mins from Bristol to Swindon.

Good run from Solihull to the Oxford water stop. Speed maintained in the high 60's to low 70's Leamington to Banbury and Banbury to Oxford. 73.5 topped passing Heyford.

Message from guard to inform us that due to a fire on a train at Swindon station, Network Rail are holding us at Challow in the loop until we can proceed.

Still at Challow. Nothing going west and it looks as though our day at Minehead has also gone west.
