The Severn Valley has had occasional revenue-earning freight charters, including one steam-hauled in May 2007 when small prairie 4566 took a load of pipes to Trimpley for Severn Trent Water.

That's more running across Network Rail ala Welsh Highland, the Leek trackbed itself is owned by the Council.

Thanks Burmister I knew there was some sort of arrangement between NR and Spa Valley. But wasn't sure about ownership of track.

How about freights on narrow gauge lines?

It's splitting hairs, but Chinnor are running on what is *now* a siding but what *was* the Princes Risborough-Oxford via Thame metals. Longer term, they will be using the PR-Watlington track (the rails are there but not in use) so at the moment when they get to Thame Jct from Chinnor they're crossing onto the Thame rails and running in to PR that way. Doesn't make much difference as they're literally adjacent rails but if we're going to be pedantic....

When both branches were in regular use, were they indeed separate right from PR? Looking at http://maps.nls.uk/view/102340196 for example, it looks as if could have been two single tracks on one formation, much like the present situation west of Crediton.

I'm not entirely certain but I believe so yes.
