There's been some photos posted on Facebook showing Tornado being moved by road. Anyone know what's going on?

Apparently headed west on the M4 according to a comment on the Allely's FB page.

Be far easier to tow it in light steam in that scenario, Heading somewhere away from NR I'd suggest.

Funny, when I asked whether Tornado was leaving Bodmin by road or rail, I was told they don't like putting her on low loaders.

I think their declared policy from day 1 was that Tornado would travel by rail or not at all, but they may have relaxed it occasionally.

If it's heading off for tyre turning then maybe the Bodmin stay took more off the tyre profile than hoped for.

I thought exactly the same thing. Very tight curves on the Bodmin Branch.

If that is indeed the explanation, it means that the Trust departed from their declared policy of never sending Tornado by road for the sake of some publicity (which is always good but hardly needed in Tornado's case) and mere filthy lucre.

Yeah, right.... and tell me which locomotive owning group would turn down Hollywood cash and all the kudos to stick to a 'declared policy'? I doubt the A1SLT covenantors would have been too impressed if they had heard that was the case! A really good coup for mainline steam I'd say!

Tornado went on a low loader to Llangollen for Steel Steam Stars 3, and was due to go to the Bluebell before the line reached East Grinstead, until boiler problems prevented it. I thought it depended on the unloading area. Graeme Bunker visited Sheffield Park before they agreed to the visit.

Doesn't Hugh Grant always play himself, no matter what the plot, scenario or character?

A bit like Ray Winstone and Danny Dyer whatever the part it's played as a cockney!

Objection. Nicholas Cage is not always bad. The problem is he's unpredictable. Christopher Lee, for instance, was always good even in bad films. Nicholas Cage can be great in bad films, bad in great films, bad in bad films or good in good films and there seems to be no discernable reason why or way of predicting what you're going to get.
