In general if other locos failed as much as that did they would have been quarantined till they could prove they are reliable.

Either that, or the chap likes to see a Class 33 out and about more often. However the number of times 33207 has had steam assistance is pretty high in quantity. Employees of Pilkingtons shouldn't throw stones, etc.

That cannot be a prototypical photo.
Have you forgotten about the edict that states all engines must face South?;)

But that was back in the days when crews knew how to handle locos properly, lineside vegetation was not the problem it is now, and NP did not exist to criticize performance, livery, coal and pie quality;)

Interested on their take on fuel/ water balance for this new profile tender on BIL, something like 6-7 tonnes/ 5-5,500 gallons perhaps...

So that's evidence that Bulleids don't fail every time they face an incline. We'll have to settle for 'most times' instead.

The evidence of MN routinely mastering northern hills will surely be provided in the very near future?

I remember experiencing a pretty dire ascent of Evershot with 5029 'Can't Climb Castle' on dry rail, so even 4-6-0s have their moments.

Try again behind 7029 or 5043.

On a serious note for a moment, It seems to me Bulleids generally get on better if they can carry momentum onto a gradient, The trouble seems to occur in the low speed regions.

Forum rules prevent a more robust reply but the above is more balderdash from the terminally uninformed.
Not sure why I should bother to counter your rubbish but over the years I've made several main line trips behind 34027, 34070, 34092, 35005 and 35028 and not once have I been let down by a failure uphill, downhill or on the level. For balance I can say that in over 40 years of main line steam travel I've not suffered one failure on the road by a steam loco of any design.
