I like the final scene climbing Wilpshire bank, the safety valves are just feathering, so no problems with the boilers capability to raise steam against the grade. Of course she is a Bulleid!

I think, perhaps, that you overestimate the number of people that are bothered? It is a talking point, but I suspect very few will lose any sleep over it. I don't really see the point, but it doesn't offend me in any way. I fully accept that Mr Smith is free to do as he wishes with his locos in the same way as I'm free to make a choice which ones I wish to ride behind.

Exactly and if it is going to be an unconventional livery lets hope its done well, with a positive motive.

Be careful, be very careful you might just find yourself bundled into a compartment of a coach hauled by a black un numbered, unnamed MN, and deposited at Fortress Carnforth never to be seen again

There used to be a regular one on the west Highland line. Prior to that I think a couple of freights involving the 8F and 75014 on separate occasions?

Getting to like the Black paintwork on 35018, makes it look like it's come out of a secret underground bunker!

Don't you mean Fortress Carnforth :) At least now that the load test is out of the way, it will soon become clear how permanent the Black coat of paint is, and what livery she will carry ,if as some expect her debut will be on the Chester Dalesman, on the 18th, that gives about 10 days to get her though the paint shop .

Well looking at the footage of BIL on the test run, the obvious things to note were removal of Bodmin name plates and that the cab side numbers had been applied as well as one BR logo on the tender. So it looks as though it will stay black.

The cabside numbers and back to front BR logo on the tender have been applied for some time, and look very makeshift, similar to Galatea's cabside number.
