35018 British India Line

My mistake, I took it as tomorrow, not even had a drink !!!

 

Both 60009 and 35018 in steam at NRM today, along with 60103.

3 Pacific's in steam i bet that would have made a sight how often does York have 3 engines in steam

Departure now tweaked to 09:20 tomorrow according to RTT. Not often you see a 16P combination, nor two different classes with Bulleid involvement out on the mainline together.

0920 York arriving at Carnforth at 1602, is she coming back by road!

 

Now if it was a Saint, about 45 minutes would be all that was required for that little jaunt.

 

Removing every platform edge in the process......

Although to be fair a Saint would probably have got there without slipping to stand on a slight incline and running hot in the first place...

Quite right, though I tend to look at times at York station, rather than NRM.

 

So it seems, opportunity for some running at ELR going with the A4 perhaps a worthwhile consideration?

 

It doesn't actually seem to be getting out of the York area until about 1100, I bet the crews cannot wait for it, although I suspect it will be slotted in where it can be and thus will run early?

 

Never generated enough horsepower to slip.

Prehaps the saint could have a role in NR'S gauging department , gauge everything to take a saint ,fit dozerblades to the running plate and adjust the structures to suit then anything will fit

 

Or even a 'King'...?

A King to get it moving, a Merchant / A1 to get it to go fast for mile upon mile, a Duchess or Duke to power over the odd hill and an A4 to go faster than the wind down the other side....
