This official press release seems pretty comprehensive:

I take it the tour is passing Ashtead as it isn't mentioned on RTT? Sorry for the silly question; unless I'm missing something, there's not a cut-through between Dorking and L'head.

According to this version of RTT, it is due to pass Ashtead at 18.32.

Aha, thanks. Odd that when I looked on RTT yesterday Ashtead wasn't listed.

Well. There is a Scot at the buffers at Bognor. So far, the day has also broken many other records like VIC to Gatwick in 90 minutes. But the day was never about how long it took although some passengers seem so confused that they needed reminding that the train wasn't calling back at Bognor to pick them up after we have gone to Littlehampton. And then there was the guy who was put off at Haywards Heath having boarded at Victoria thinking he was going to Whitstable. Yes, all of this is true.

Effortless through Amberley, and dead on time. And I think (?) the 47 on the back was shut down. Hopefully some good shots for those further up the line if the weather holds.

Practically back on time by Ewell East. Sounded excellent accelerating out of Epsom to Cheam with nothing from the 47 on the rear.

Just cruising when l saw it on the approach to Horsham. The noisiest thing at the rear seemed to be a wheel flat!
Here is a (not great as the light was fading) picture for the record.

Hope all on board had a good day.

Thanks for the explanation, Half of Lancing seemed to have turned out to see it. I arrived there and was told that it was "on time" but wondered why it passed through 38 minutes late according to RTT. If only it was 35 late! The sun was out for much of the time between 12 noon and 1PM but chose to dive behind a cloud as the steam from 46100 appeared in the distance. I could have taken about 10 pictures of EMUs all in the sun! I then stayed and waited for the 66-hauled RHTT train and this time, the sun went in less than a minute before the train passed me. On well, you get days like this . I hope those on board enjoyed themselves. 46100 is a lovely engine and I hope it will work another train in the south of England again before too long.

A great day despite the trundle. The return was actually quite lively with a nudge for only half a min or so to help us up to Betchworth tunnel. It was 500 tons after all.

Once again the signallers tried to screw everything up. After the Preston Park wrong platform routing they then tried to send us to Three Bridges at Horsham. Luckily the crew pulled up in time for the road to be reset. It seems you can't rely on weekend staff!

Royal Scot looked good today even with the 50 minute delay at Barnham early this afternoon, lots and lots of families out to see 46100 even with the shabby weather. Went back to Arundel tonight with my eldest son and a fair few were out, again the Scot looked great with it accelerating through the station on its way back to London.

Bonus for me as we were heading home up the A24 after Arundel and dived in to Warnham for a bonus shot after seeing on RTT that we were ahead.
