Does anyone here remember a young woman who'd forgotten to dress for the occasion and one of the Deltics? :Wideyed:

The video starring Emma and 55022. I wouldn't recommend posting it on here!

  9. Ah. Irony lost in translation. Men often talk about the 'mystery' of women. I just acknowledge and accept that both sexes think differently. It keeps life interesting - vive la difference! :)
It's the jugs every time for me. Although...
... the lady in said calendar clearly had more filler in two key areas of her bodywork than the whole of D9016, which I always find a complete turn-off.

But at the end of the day, you can't curl up on a sofa with a bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire with a locomotive. Well you could, I suppose, but it would be wrong in so many ways... :Wacky:

Does anybody know the up to date situation with 55022 up at NYMR? Is it still there, is the damaged engine out, any news of a movement to Crewe, (road or towed)?
We've concentrated on Gordon but 22 is part of the deal as well.

Its at NYMR, and destined for a transit move soon @Victor, no road move, as this would involve taking it to Pickering, and I think they are doing track work at the moment.

    Also in one piece..

Reading a thread regarding this on WNXX doesn't make particularly happy reading, I never knew that situation with Deltic engines was quite so precarious. Its going to need some very substantial investment from somewhere to address that matter.

Just as well they've been sold to someone who's not short of a bob or two, then.

I'm guessing...........but I don't think he bought them to gas axe them. He doesn't buy stuff if it's a lost cause. Keep the faith...........they'll be back.:)

Even Martin has made the situation on Deltic engines fairly clear . Only one has had a rebuild in preservation and that was 9016's which got foam damaged

most are now high on engine hours and I think the showstopper is changing liners

I cannot imagine that likewise, to be honest it was more of a shock reading how many of the engines (within the whole preserved fleet) are knackered and the costs of repair (it was suggested c.500k per engine for at least the initial rebuild with prices dropping if economies of scale could be found) even if parts can be found suggested that Deltic preservation makes steam preservation look like cheap sport.

It was suggested that Mr Hosking just rebuild them with Class 66 engines like the 47-57 rebuilds.
