Posting on Facebook this evening with a more detailed explaination of the events in July and thoughts as to the way forward.
Next year could be interesting!

Could well be interesting, probably going to be a long haul though, effectively starting from scratch.

 

There was also an 'interesting' reply from Felin Fawr Cyf (the Landlords?) but I can no longer see it on Facebook!

 

indeed it does say there are 4 comments but only three are in evidence. What was the gist of it?

 

For those of us not on farcebook could someone post the content of the original posting?

I saw the original post by the landlord. It was something on the lines of 'don't post lies, we did this and this for them. you didn't do this but you did this which we did not approve of. etc. etc.

That's pretty much a 'b####t'-ised version of it cause I doing it from memory of reading it while I was playing a video game and slightly drunk.

I have read though the last couple of pages and the Facebook posting once again and thinking about what happened if pervious conflicts at preservation sites between the landlord and the group (Dinting Railway Centre comes straight to mind), I am wondering if there is any point continuing the railway scheme.

I do not normally do a negative view of preservation schemes. To be fair this restoration seemed to been a very positive development to the extent it even gained the loan of one of the original engines (Jubilee). And had firm plans in place for extensions, held very successful galas, etc., etc.

However now, the 'second form' of the railway supporting group is now homeless. The two sides can't seem to come to some sort of agreement (whoever fault that is). The track has been 'pulled' up (possibly). No plans have been made for a replacement home. The rolling stock has been spread to the four winds and Jubilee 'dumped' at the Vale of Rheidol Railway's workshops. And there no news or up dates for about six months until last night. And the main website has gone down.

Forgive me for being a miserable s#d on (Christmas Day of all days), but I do wonder if its time to stop further progress on the PQR, return Jubilee back to Towyn, and let everyone draw a line under this affair. Otherwise all I can see is not a continuing successful railway heritage project, but some lawyer getting his/her retirement fund in place...

 

A few things come to mind.
I can't see why the new owner of the item of rolling stock had to pay twice? Who would even do that?
Also, if the group raised money for phase 2, can they legally use it to fund a different scheme?

Interesting that the supporters group was started because the Felin Fawr people fell out with the original society, but now it seems they lost control of this one too!

If the group do restart somewhere they'll need to make sure they have proper control over the trackbed this time!

The original comment from the Landlord was actually quite brief and had been removed within a few days.
There was also a comment from another tenant that also vanished plus another comment by the landlord re a query about the buildings that's also been vapourised.
Whatever, you can speculate for ever and a day and probably won't get the full story from either party involved.

Jubilee was reclaimed by the museum who arranged for it to go to the VOR for safe keeping and is no longer anything to do with the PQR, I doubt they will risk it again unless something substantial materialises at a future time.

 

Maybe VOR might do something with it if/when/maybe they had a spear moment!!!!

 

I guess sticking a spear in it might help....

Sorry to readon that page that theorignal PQR chairs on the track that came from the FR have been lost as part of the sad steat of affairs

 

Have a look at the reviews on the Facebook PQR page, top one appears to have been amended, doesn't look very encouraging!

 

Hummm, Suspicions of too much sherry in the Christmas cake perhaps? or brandy in the pud?

 

Or dyslexia? Best to give posters the benefit of the doubt.
