What Tender and Boiler did the Aberdare use?

 

The first batch had a standard no2 boiler but later builds had the larger std no4 and earlier locos were soon altered to match.

Tenders were mainly 3000 gallon with a few with the 3500 gallon version. That was so until the early 30s when withdrawals began. The survivors where then paired with tenders salvaged from withdrawn ROD 2-8-0s. WWII delayed their final demise until 1948.

 

Neil has an image of 2608 in 1938 at Kidderminster. Does anyone know if they were they used on the SVR branch, or loop line Kidderminster to Bewdley?
