    The B12 had its LNER livery refreshed in mid-2016, that will now see it through to the end of its current ticket in 2021. There appears to be no appetite to repaint it at present given the current glut of BR black locos on the NNR. As mentioned above it is the only working loco in any LNER livery.

    Oh I dunno ..... looks to me like you've got the "Light Blue Touchpaper" bit down to a fine art. It's the "Stand Well Back" bit which often needs practice. I still haven't developed the skill to master the "Do Not Return Once Lit" bit. :)

    If FirstUK and/or Greater Anglia could be persuaded to stump up some sponsorship ..... anyone for a J70 (and a couple of W&U carriages) in corporate drag for the loco's 1st boiler cert? Might help with a certain local "Big Railway" reopening scheme .....

    Thanks to all at the NNR yesterday, I had a super day. The complimentary small glass of Sherry and the mince pies (I was given more than one) were just what the doctor ordered. :) Passenger numbers looked good as well, nearly enough to justify another train.

    Thank you for your posts. I love being able to keep up with what is going on at my favourite railway, even though I'm miles away. Did you see that the blog was name-checked in the linear scrapyard thread, post #92? There's a discussion about different paints and the use of epoxy paints

    Just read that S&DJR 7F 53809 is moving to the NNR permanently (or at least long term hire).

    I guess that good relations were built up after the locomotive's two gala visits.

    Pleasantly surprised how the NNR home fleet continues to grow.

    So 2018 will see 7 BR type steam locomotives on the line in operation for the main season (fingers crossed). Is this a record for the NNR?

    Does the NNR have any home engines undergoing a General repair? Because the wiki says no and the website doesn't have anything down as out of traffic, so I presume that the Railway has reached a literal holy grail.
