    The web site does mention a technical issue with a steam locomotive. Maybe the Class 25 diesel 7535 is running in place? That could cheer up diesel fans. I suggest you make a phone call if intending a visit.

    If it is it will certainly be a big attraction for the line. Whilst I am apprehensive about a blue King it will make a change from green and black - blending in well with the frequently blue sea of Lyme Bay. ;)

    The news piece on the Didcot website states 'We are also in negotiation with the Dartmouth Steam Railway & River Boat Company for their hire of 6023 for the summer.

    I don't remember it previously saying that.

    An earlier post in this thread, Tony, states that 5197 will be at Paignton until the end of May, so don't leave it too late particularly as she is not always rostered it seems.

    Really keen to get another run with the S160 in before it goes (and any info on its outings is much appreciated), but would also hugely recommend that people try to get the Pannier in while it's there again. One of my best trips of 2017 was behind L94 on a slightly drizzly September day last year with a seven-coach load - the crew did a brilliant job keeping wheelslip under control on the greasy rail and the noise up the banks was superb. I'll definitely pop over tomorrow morning to see it on my day off.
