Two photos of British India Line on a loaded test run today - at Starricks Farm, and after passing through Ramsgreave & Wilpshire.

Other than the leak not much wrong with 35018 after going up Wilpshire in style admittedly with a light load .

Did anyone get the return at Lancaster, most test runs are going fairly briskly through there.

When one of the suport crew was heard to say " its coming down the valve spindle " does he mean the firemans side steam leak?

Who can say? But as soon as I heard it, I thought 'oh oh...that comment will generate pages of speculation!' *sits back with a big tub of popcorn*

If the itinerary on 21 March gets switched to, say, Carnforth--Shrewsbury direct--Carnforth, that could be a big clue.

Oooh, something about outside admission and full pressure on the gland, notoriously difficult to seal.

It's all a matter of timing - especially with having to suffer the A59 problems en route !

Unlikely I would say as it means finding a suitable steam path all the way and the extra time involved in water stops, would make the day to long.

Let WCR take their time, after every test run, successful or not, there has been a comment on here suggesting she should be traction the next big tour. I don’t think she’ll appear on a CME out of the blue, on her inaugural tour, she failed/slipped to a stand within distance of a rescue loco and on a quiet line. She is booked for a short leg of the GB XI on day 2. I don’t think WCR will risk a failure on shap until she has at least had a few runs with a full load
