    V4 already has it's tyres, K3 has it's first £100 towards it.

Also a K3 engine is planned? That was new for me, (but I have noting against it!):)

They are a fair way down the road, K3 by 2030 maybe. I did ask about a replica Hush Hush after that but got a two word answer!

Yes but it was decided that the V3 and K3 would then follow. After that my choice would be a K2 Ragtimer.

Can we assume those two words were along the lines of "not yet" or something to that effect? :)

Presumably some blokes in Doncaster will be sketching out plans for 60700 as we speak…

Pushing the boat well and truly out. They could perhaps build both versions, i.e. as 10,000 with the watertube boiler and the reboilered version with the conventional firetube boiler and A4 streamlining:eek::Saywhat::)!

I wasn't aware that a K3 was on the agenda, but I suspect that the two-word answer you got about a W1 was probably the same one I was given some years ago ;)

I'm sure they are as a follow up to the other P2. Seriously can that make any headway? I wanted to see a P2 and it didn't take me long to chose which one to support with my hard earned cash. It's a powerful selling point to be able to say 'here's one we made earlier.

I always wondered as a kid what the S&T Dept. was on the KWVR... You learn something new every day!

Wow you can hear the Gresley 'beat.' Now the Bugatti rebuild 10000, with the design faults out and a slightly higher pressure boiler, gunning for MALLARD's record, now that would top the A1 and P2!

For another pre-grouping design, I’d like to see a new Raven A2.

I'd be interested to learn more about these locos. Although a post WWI product, at first sight they've always looked almost painfully "Edwardian" in concept to me, but looks can be deceptive! I've never been completely convinced that the railway actually needed anything this large, so... question..... did they? .... or was the NER merely engaging in a glorified willy waving contest with it's southern neighbour?

Pretty much the sum total of my knowledge regarding these locos comes from the contents of the LNER Encyclopedia, so here it is:
    https://www.lner.info/locos/A/a2.php
Right .... now you know at least as much as I do!
