Videos from Friday/Saturday and Sunday in the snow, fantastic event and a very enjoyable three days. Photos to follow later...

Can any kind soul who attended the gala on Sunday give an indication of how well filled the trains were please? Just wondering how much the bad weather affected attendance.
I know any gala is finely balanced between profit and loss, so hoping this wasn't too bad for the SVR, given the huge effort made by volunteers and staff.

Reasonably full, I'd say, on a lot of trains.

6023 seemed pretty full Saturday morning, ie standing in the corridors, but after trains seem reasonably loaded but not packed and standing, yesterday's late running 1035 seemed not as full but as I only did that Bewdley - Kidderminster before making my way home I couldn't say what the rest of the day was like.

Seemed pretty quiet when I jumped on a rather late running 12:00 when I finally made it through the snow to Kidderminster but it seemed to pick up after that. I know it was a fairly lax timetable but still good to get so much time back, from about 50 down to 10 or so by the last train.

Anyway here's some more pics, a few from Saturday morning at Bridgnorth and then Sunday afternoon in the snow, I will admit to adding some light to these afterwards as despite the snow it was still very dull on Sunday:

My brother went Friday and Sunday and told me that Sunday was far quieter; they were able to get seats easily on the trains they used, whereas when he and I were there Friday, it was either standing room or sharing tables.

Sunday's usually a quieter day anyway isn't it?

ASG Sunday last year certainly was, I could get a seat! In fact I had my own table all the way from BH-KR on a 4pm train!

As a rule, I can only think of the 2013 'spring' gala as an example of the other way round.

Thank you to all our passengers who turned out on Sunday. It made a difficult start worth the effort. First problem was the brakes had frozen on on the coaching set and judicious use of a large iron bar was necessary. The set wa berthed in 2EL and scheduled to shunt to P1, normally a doddle. First we had to clear the points to get the loco attached. The crossover near the yard entrance was iced up so we had to go right out onto the single line. Then 1501 had trouble gettingg the stock rolling.. W e eventually left 40 down, lost a bit more at Bewdley where our non stop run was curtailed for an all stations run. Late running persisted during the day but finished the day only 20 late

I'm sure there will be better pics of this wee beastie, but taken whilst stood on the exchange after a cracking turn.
I was one of those crew members refered to, who had asked for her over a bigger machine.

Thanks for a great time on Saturday. My wife and my four year old Elizabeth had a lovely day. The ride on bellerophon was definitely the highlight for me, with tornado (paddington's locomotive) for Elizabeth.
