ELR Class 40's at 60 Gala 13th - 15th April 2018.

Ah...work. I remember that! It's great for me 'cos I can be at the ELR in an hour...so looking forward to it!

 

Me too, and D200 is coming as well, and I can be there in less than an hour! (Sorry John)

Very true, We'll have to ask the ELR if they'll install a stair lift!

 

I seem to recall there was one at some point in the mid to late 90's....

 

Sorry...we were talking about the steps at Summerseat foot crossing, especially the tall one at the bottom !

Cheeky bugga! Actually, I've shed a fair amount of weight lately... flew up today 'cos I heard the Deltic hum in the distance! ! Light was terrible though ... gave up after 11.30.

 

The only time I flew anywhere was when someone shouted 'Last Orders!'
I might try and get over there myself tomorrow if anybody's going to be around to give me a leg up.

 

I heard about that...you flew to the gents cos it was your round!

Anyway...I hope you have better light than this morning!

 

Excellent day out on the ELR today. Great show put on by the East Lancs/CFPS.

The two Barrow Hill locos are absolutely stunning. Great to see them gainfully employed too.

Well done to everyone involved. Hope you make loads of money this weekend.

13/04/2018 - Deltic 55009 - "ALYCIDON' pulling away from Burrs country Halt on 2E37 - on a local stopping train from Bury to Ramsbottom at the 40`s at 60 event on the ELR

 

Could only manage a couple of hours at Heywood today for this event, not the best day weather wise but it stayed dry (ish).

Do the little blue stars above the buffers have significance?

 

Multiple working system. It means class 40s can work with any other locos fitted with the same type of system. There are a few systems, because it would be too easy to have one standard one!
