Glad you have the coach liveries sorted out. Now just for the rest of the event.

A full rake of 7 blood and custards would be nice too.

The external colour of a Mark 1 is largely irrelevant: it’s the quality of the trim and decor / ambience inside that matters.

Far better to concentrate on getting a set of the GWR carriages in service, IMHO.

The external colour is irrelevant, but the condition of that external paintwork certainly is.

Am I correct in understanding that 7027 is not being restored at Williton?

    Nick,
I don't see a date but the text does seem to give an answer to your question.

That did answer your question Nick, but your subsequent post changes everything.

of course if you want to be truly authentic you will need to remove coaches en route and have an M7 or Ivatt 2 / Std 4 tank take them onward which may create a few problems when they all reach minehead , can you fit 8 coaches and 3 engines in the platform , you might need revolving station signs also, Padstow, all change, bideford , change at halwill for all stations to Plymouth :)

The ACE could be a dreadfully slow experience west of Exeter as it often called at every station and wayside, oil lamp lit halt.
Should be at home on a 25 mph railway. :D

Does service 300 (Minehead - Lynmouth) still run in the summer months?

I always thought it a lost opportunity not publicising the possibility of a WSR ride + a service 300 ride (or service 400 which used to do a tour of Exmoor starting outside MND station).

  16. Hmmm. I see no attempt by the organisers of this event to promote the WSR as the means to get to Minehead. If they'd like to amend their webpage to include the train service then I'd be happy to promote their event on wsr.org.uk Mutual help and all that.

  17. In recent years the WSR has promoted a train/bus ride (Lynmouth Explorer?) so no 'lost opportunities'. Maybe it didn't pay. Perhaps the uncertainty of the bus service being provided in 2018 is a factor?
