Well, as there isn't one I thought I should start one.............

I took my two oldest yesterday (Saturday 18th March)

First Born wants to get some HST Trips in before they are phased out - given the current situation I suspect I might never live to see the day when they are all gone, so the 'Half Price Weekend' had the words 'no brainer' written on it.

Judging by the numbers we weren't the only ones to think that way.

Well, a good time was had by all, while it is clear that the coaches need to go under cover, its good to see a new carriage shed under construction.

The website could do with some improvement - the loco roster in particular but its good to see one of the pioneering preserved lines doing well, thank you all.

SDR seem to be keeping it a secret, no mention on either websites or social media.

Also the 15.00 departure will be D6975 with autocoach W233 and will be running in air brake mode as well.

Called in yesterday on way to Plymouth, nice to see the changes and addition in sidings. Never seen the track past the other signal box empty.

Does anyone know what timetable will be in operation over the model and miniature weekend 10-11th June. The website has it marked as a special event but no mention of timetable. Red or blue?

Some lovely shots. Poor old 2873. I remember photographing it, still with its boiler, at Tyseley back in the early 1980s. I recall that the driving wheels had very good tyres, much better than ours on 2807 at the time. I wonder if, one day, someone might try and put this loco back together again.

A change to the loco roster for Thursday 19th April.
    From SDR FB.

In a change to the loco roster, it is now planned that 5542 will be in operation tomorrow (19 April), hauling the advertised passenger service. This will be one of very few days this year that this locomotive will be in operation on the SDR, so get it while you can!

How come? Is she going elsewhere or is there a period out of traffic for overhaul scheduled?

My guess would be the one in the middle of no where close to a Battlefield ,which SDR locos often visit.
