if she isn't then 45669 and the B1 can cover can't they, and hopefully if 45212 +B1 can power the crewe to cardif , 35018 might power the final two days, :Nailbiting:

I'd find it unlikely they'd use the B1 later again in the tour. While yes it does have a low loader movement South on Tuesday next week, I'd imagine arrival would be early Wednesday morning anywhere practical. The locomotive would then require a warming through and inspection to ensure no illness from movement, which puts it into Thursday. A lot of effort, especially when it's required back at the Moors.

We then have to raise the issue of gauging. Rileys 5's are out of play for this year due to it, even having just performed to Kyle with 44871 two years ago and 45212 up the HML last year. The B1 has had to do low loader to Scotland due to not being gauged, so I'd also be surprised if it were to suddenly be cleared for any Southern legs.

The best thing to do is wish the A4 the best of health for next week.

Never made it last year either. But there is, hopefully, the Cardiff to London leg.

It's got another 15 months providing all exams are passed I believe, would be very surprised to not see it on next years GB Rota (if there is one). Understand plans are being developed for a proper swansong next year too.

Updated with days 8 and 9. We’re just 10 hours from departure, hope everything goes to plan from here on!

Crawled through from Hauxton crossing to Shepreth Branch Junction - came to a halt (just) approaching the junction...it was late, so suspect it was held merging in to the combined KX/LS line. Safeties lifted twice approaching junction, so no shortage of steam :)
