The group today enjoyed a pleasant morning cruising along the River Elbe in the paddle steam "Leipzig", before having a sortie up the Weisseritztalbahn. P1060482.JPG P1060483.JPG P1060490.JPG P1060493.JPG P1060495.JPG P1060497.JPG P1060498.JPG

In about 1993 I did a trip and was invited into the guards van so I could stand on the balcony behind the loco - bad mistake if the loco is running bunker first on the street running sections with the steam bell in full cry..................

Love that line but never done the top part - Dresden beckons, I think!

As with most of these visits, the train was empty apart from our group, one wonders how it pays for itself, perhaps in summer? We had the run of the train, balcony at the loco end or rear of the train for the views on curves. The section in the river shot reminded my wife of a smaller version of Aberglaslyn pass!
