Does that mean no unit. Looking at the website it is saying that theres a DMU service - is that the diesel turn instead?

    Thanks in advance.

  13. Sorry, I misunderstood your question @The Black Hat All being well the DMU is expected to work its rostered duties. Regular diesel loco turns in 2018 are usually on the Saturday "brown timetable".

Latest news from the PLC board makes for interesting reading to say the least: http://www.wsr.org.uk/plc-board-may-2018.pdf

Looks like 4110 is to be sold.....wasn't this only purchased a few years back?

Financial assessment sounds fairly bleak and talk of 'uncomfortable decisions' - I wonder what these might be?

The timetable is acknowledged to be a 'serious problem'.

And it appears the board has been without a single safety advisor for some time (other railways have entire safety committees).

Not looking good from this distance, you have to wonder where it's all going to end up, the AGM is going to be an uncomfortable experience for some I feel.

Interesting that they say the timetable can’t be changed mid season. The GWSR did just that recently and I can remember the Gwili did after they opened their extension and realised the timetable didn’t work. I’m pretty sure the same season the DFR also changed theirs the same year.

Depends what is pre-booked: conceivably awkward to do if you have a large coach party trade that are basing timings round specific trains. Not to mention the incidental cost of possibly having to reprint thousands of leaflets. So I can fully understand why you would not wish to change mid-season if you could in any way avoid it.

I suppose in part it depends on how much you want to move about. Admittedly I didn’t think of prebooking though.

The current board statements seem to confirm the recent comments that the more lucrative rail tour trade was to be encouraged and may suggest the difficulties making a revision to the current timetable.
