I gather there is a LAS built 0-6-0 for sale in the UK, from the same class as Naklo on the South Tynedale and Tourska on the North Gloucestershire. She's about 95% completely from what I can gather. Anyone know any more?

Those are both handsome machines, but I think I prefer the original side tanks to the tender version.
Would be most interested in hearing about this possible third loco.
    Buyers consortium anyone? ;)

I don't know, a tender version in Southern livery might have a certain quirky vibe to it - mainline on narrow gauge!

Maybe as a long term possibility, but one assumes if it's 95% complete, then building a tender would add to cash and time!
Can you let us know where you heard about this, as no-one else appears to be posting ??
I gather some North Norfolk people were working on a similar looking loco in Belgium last year - could it be that one?

I don't have much more info, think it's in the latest Traction Ads (http://tractionads.co.uk/html/current.htm), being sold by Jeremy Martin (I think) - but not sure who he is.

I'm interested if shares are at an entry level price.
I can think of one railway that might be able to use such a locomotive...

If it's the L&B I guess it might use it on the short term, but the aim is for all MWs plus Lyn in the long term. I wonder whether a LAS would fit their loading gauge.

There are a range of possibilities for an owners group, but it'd have to go somewhere where they can finish the boiler work of course.

And then there's the livery - pistols at dawn??? :D

The L&B loading gauge is pretty generous for 2' gauge, but if one was to consider building a tender loco from the LAS, originality is clearly not a concern, so why not a new, SR style cab and shorter boiler fittings to suit the L&B. Short term might be longish term-it took 10 years to build Lyn. and 3 M-W's will take some saving up. When the L&B gets longer it will need road locomotives that can pull trains and earn.
I ain't even going to discuss livery

I hear that it's been sold already, but I don't know to whom yet.

In case anything else comes on the market might it be an idea to start a list of possible members of a buyers' syndicate?
