Read reports that it failed at the Bluebell diesel gala with generator problems but no idea if they're true.

True but still to inspected as to how bad and whether can be repaired in situ or remove and send away.

Work is still progressing on the trailer car: the parcel area is being converted for wheelchair users.

With much-needed rain having been received in the Peterborough area in recent days, the NVR has announced on its social media platforms that it is confident steam can return from Wednesday, August 15 - with 92 Squadron in traffic.

I was hoping to visit in the next week or two but all the dates I can get there, they aren't operating. Odd for August

Not really? Also, some operating dates aren't shown on the calendar - when I took that photo of Helga I didn't think they were operating either!

sorry, but can't take the risk of travelling there at 22 mpg when I could go somewhere definitely open. I would have thought August was peak time to be open as much as staffing will allow.

How about phoning the railway to double check? I never assume a website is 100% accurate.

I don't do phone calls, I could text but like most people , I probably won't, accepting the info on the website and going elsewhere or on the days they are open (which I probably can't). I must admit I hadn't considered that the info might be wrong.

I'm not sure I would class it as 'wrong' - it's just that on the days that aren't public running days (usually Monday/Friday) there may still be other stuff going on (e.g. Driver Experience).

i didn't say it was wrong, someone else said it might not be 100% accurate. I did say I thought it was odd not to be operating in August, but then I don't know the facts behind that. The good news is I've re-arranged my schedule and will be able to visit now.

All public operating dates should be on the website. Over the summer it's generally every day other than Mondays and Fridays. Historically both have been tried at various points but often do not have many punters. Friday's also often have driver experiences, which bring in a good revenue. It also allows time for our Civils to undertake various jobs they can't do with trains running.

Any services other than that are likely to be private charters or test runs. There's not much point running a public service if no one knows about it...
