Listen lad, 10A is 'home turf', it was restored oop 'ere and 'ere is where it's staying. If the money is right (hire fees) maybe, just maybe, it might see Victoria.;)
Yes, it was restored in Lancashire, but it's Yorkshire money that is in it (Mr Smith is a Yorkshire farmer)
So, stump up next season or forget Victoria..................................;)

Any WIBN will remain a dream unless the money's there. A pair of MNs out of Victoria (or anywhere else come to that) would indeed be a wonderful sight, especially if NR could make parallel running possible for some of the way, and/or arrange something via Romsey so they can pass each other at some point; but you can only ride behind one of them (or just lineside and not contribute cash at all), while the operator(s) would need to fill both trains. Financially viable? Very dubious.

A bargain not to be missed as evidenced by "Bob and the boys" wandering in a few minutes after us. Mrs W does not qualify for pensioner's lunch or for a pensioner's anything else due entirely to the interventions of that "King of the Jingle Boys" George (the floggings will continue until morale improves) Osborne. And she certainly looks far too young to be even considered to be anywhere near pensionable age - so we pay top dollar!

Could have been either, but we'd heard that Jaconelli's isn't as good since the factory closed. We checked out Pacitto's but it seemed to be predominantly whipped ice cream and we prefer scoop. We settled for "Chill at Planet Ice Cream", plenty of flavours, single scoop in a plain cone £2 - lovely.

As you may have noticed I was not with Bob and the boys, doing a Leeds to Stratford tomorrow instead, hopefully I'll get my Scarborough/Mother Hubbards fix next week. :) :Hungry:

Surely ripe barley fields are supposed to look like that after harvest?

Thanks Danny, at least the "supporting cast" is on the back and I could hide it where possible but I'm beginning to run out of ideas. :(
Strangely enough it hissed down on the way home, not made any difference though. :Meh:

Can't really work out why the assisting loco can be at the rear on that route but not others, maybe it's flat enough for the steam to maintain momentum without really working whilst the diesel shoves from stationary?

Fair comment and as we both live in Northumberland we know that the weather has broken at times

The risks must be lower then Henry, the east is usually drier, shows how odd this summer's been.

I've noticed that since that thundery Friday a couple of weeks ago the grass along cliff-top paths on the coast has greened up again nicely.

Steam locos? What are they? I've almost forgotten what one looks like. We're starved of them up here, with about two runs per year up the ECML. This has been the only one so far this year, with a 47 on the back and that was back in May - a one-way run. The only other one in 2018 is a one-way by Tornado in October. Yes, well I'm a young 68, and it was threepence yesterday, well, so it seems, but then everything seems overpriced, especially since that last crash, I blame that for everything......

Finally caught up with 35018 as we arrived into Scarborough for a family weekend on Thursday. By Harry, she's a fine engine. I would have spent longer admiring her had I not been dragged away by my 7 year old with 2p coins burning a hole in her pocket.

Fantastic work, all credit to the team at 10A.
