So will I. Maybe there’s some haggling to be done in negotiating the final price since there would surely be no alternative buyers other than the scrappie.

Ish. They were £15550.09 and £15550.19 for Alycidon and RHF respectively.

And I doubt a scrappie would give £18k.

they are cheap when you think the alternative is to build new ones. The money would in any case be staying in preservation I guess.

But only the Dutch one likely to run. Is it realistically ever going to need a complete new bogie?

They were expected to be equivalent to a class 5 when working separately, I thought, not a 5XP

I think more the case that they were designed to be the equivalent of a Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 when operated singly but proved the equivalent of a Stanier "Jubilee" in practice.

I'm contributing monthly - and I would encourage anyone else with an interest to do so - even the equivalent of a pint a week can and will make a difference!!!

Which in today's money is £52,173.37 for the former alone when adjusted for inflation! Yikes!

Good luck Ivatt folks! I cheer from afar as I have not the pennies to help.

This weekend a working party has cleaned and maintained our 1947-built English Electric 16SVT mk 1 power unit. See the video here: https://lms10000.co.uk/video

We are taking the infomation stand to the class 50 gala at the Severn Valley Railway on the 4th to 6th of October. The class 50's are the direct descendants of the LMS twins. We have space allocated on the concourse at Kidderminster. So if anybody fancies an hour or two chatting to visitors it would be appreciated

I thought the 50's were developed from DP2. Same thing in a Deltic bodyhell.
