It'll be a milestone in itself if a repaint becomes necessary for another phase of mainline operation. We need to appreciate 6233 however we can for as long as we can, delighted to see it re-emerge regardless of livery. Hope it gets plenty of work to replenish the coffers.

I've just looked at their website in the hope of reminding myself what has been going on, as it's only 6½ years since she emerged in green after a general overhaul. Instead of up-to-date information, http://www.prclt.co.uk/6233-duchess-of-sutherland.html says "It is planned to repaint 46233 into Crimson Lake livery in early/mid 2017, although this timescale is subject to change according to work commitments." I have sent them a message suggesting an update to that page.

Can someone please remind us when and why she was last withdrawn from operation.

January 2018 with 21 cracked flue tubes. They decided to do the boiler for a new certificate rather than wait till 2021.

Let them concentrate on getting it fit for the SVR gala - the website can wait! :)

Looks quite nice. However, I've seen the light. Malachite green with sunshine yellow running plate edge. Maybe renumbered to 21C1233.

...and don't forget the P2, which should never see anything other than Apple Green (unless any were painted black during the war but I don't think they were).

Neither a Scot or original Bulleid light in BR Express blue is authentic but with a bit of imagination would make a darned fine sight to my mind. Hope somebody someday shares the same fantasy to make it real.
