I have 20th August 1994 as it's last run over the S&C. Not sure if that was it's final run on the mainline or not. Also noted for that date - it was hauling the Pilkington Set!

That would match my last main line shot of it.

Just got my copy of the Society Journal with pictures of it being painted which should be finished now so hopefully should be up and running for the Tyseley open weekend at the end of the month.

VT gaining its TOC status will presumably come in very handy for the necessary main line test runs. For 7029 too.

It will be interesting to see where 45596 picks up work on the mainline. Potentially up to 7 locos available from 10A next year ought to be enough for the north so maybe 45596 will be used on VT work mainly?

Who knows, a nice little doubleheader to Birmingham for 45690 and 45699 could make for a very nice little gala reunion of all survivors?

Indeed, hopefully VT/WC relations remain cordial enough to enable that splendid prospect to be enacted.

I think that may depend on how soon Galatea and the 8F bow out and how quickly 46115 and 6201 appear. I think 45596 will be welcome to keep the numbers up myself.

Totally agree about 45596. The 8F had a fast tracked overhaul couple of years back IIRC so should be good for a while yet. 5699 is probably closest to being due for an overhaul. The grapevine suggests 6115 and 6201 will both be ready by peak season next year and 4932 is being worked on reportedly so might reappear in 2019. Then there is 5690 too which is only a short while into its latest stint and the more or less ex works MN.
