Where does the 4MT 4-6-0 fit into the overall queue - not sure how far along that is in relation to Can Pac etc?

As far as I'm aware, its being worked on, but slowly........ due out sometime after 850 I think.......

Would be nice if more regular blogs would appear to keep her in the public's eye & that way funds towards her return to traffic might be more forthcoming!

Whilst the 75 may look quite advanced don't forget the boiler work hasn't even started yet but I guess its going to be a case of what is found with it, many unrestored ex Barry boilers may still be in fair condition needing only limited re staying and retubing compared to a boiler that has ran an ten year ticket and used up what boiler life there was from its last BR era overhaul. 850 had a very extensive boiler overhaul when restored at Eastleigh and the bottom end received a lot of attention during its time on the MHR, so possibly if the funding from steaming fees has been allocated into an overhaul fund , it could be a fairly quick job, if the engine is still in good condition mechanically. but as with everything its a case of what engine needs the least work to gain a ten year ticket I wouldn't rule out seeing 73096 jump up the queue if the engine is in better shape due to having been on treated water for the whole duration of its last ticket,

The latest items posted on the website regarding 75079 were a video in June this year and the link to the donations page:

    https://www.youtube.com/redirect?redir_token=e7P7xk6Y0MZq3nBwoUM39tnn8Xh8MTUzODEzNTEzM0AxNTM4MDQ4NzMz&q=https://mydonate.bt.com/events/standard4project/456788&event=video_description&v=_f9HLJZ84Mg

As you say, it has gone rather quiet on the website about the restoration of 75079.

Nowhere near as good as Dave's shot, as this was taken from the yard, but my take on 506

How often, in the past 40 years, has the view through the bridge been this clear?

I heard that the siding is going to be extended at Ropley to accommodate the cranes from Alton while the section from Alton to Medstead is closed for the bridge replacement at Alton next year.

There is also the Alton rake which needs to be on the country side of the 'gap'.
But yes, the cranes are needed at fairly often at Ropley, so they will be in the new second siding.

Silly question but where has everything that was in the siding gone?

Put it this way... I wouldn't want to try to shunt anything out of Ropley Manor at the moment.

A bit late I know but here are a few of my pictures (low res. versions) from the Saturday of the very enjoyable Open Weekend.

Yes I know. but there's nowt wrong with a bit artistic licence! ;)

And guess what - before I took that pic, I had a mooch down to the end of the yard to find the Urie Lads in the process of fabricating the new Ashpan & from what I could see, it wont take 'em long. :)

So, the temporary will, before you know it become permanent.

As far as I can work out, stuff is in the process of being shunted to where its needed to be - that being either Alton or Alresford, because you can't clog up Ropley!
