As far as I am aware, yes - haven't heard any plans for prior / subsequent use.

Is 61306 still confirmed as attending this event as in the What's going on section of the forum it has been reported that she is unavailable for the double headed SD Scotsman trips in the West Country in October. Her place has been taken by 44871 on the ML trips. Any chance the Black Five will visit the Bluebell in place of the B1?

I think it is improbable that Mayflower will make the gala.

I hope that the Bluebell have a back up plan. Mayflower is running so late, I'm beginning to think it's a bus!

44871 is booked to appear at the Swanage Gala, which is the same weekend as Giants.

Doh! That rules her out then.
The B1 is still shown on the Bluebell website at the moment. I wonder if she will actually make it. I suppose her test run could be from Carnforth to Sheffield Park!

With just over a week to this Gala and no signs of Mayflower does anyone have any idea as to whether it will make the Gala, a different locomotive substituted or just leaving No9 as the only guest?

An update on the website would be helpful. Hopefully we will find out soon if 61306 is available.
Could WCRC send anything from Carnforth in Mayflower's place if she isn't available? What is the status of 62005 at the moment? Both of the Jubilees are required up North for ML work. 35018 required some work.
Hopefully 60009 has also been sorted out after her failure last month.

60009 shouldn't be a problem. It has had a boiler washout and the tubes re expanded into the tubeplate. I believe it is being steam tested today.

That's odd. I've just looked at their site and it still shows Mayflower as attending.

Cant understand why anyone would get excited about an East Coast main line A4 pacific on a Sussex branchline. Now 34092 or 34081 that would be a different story.

That is disappointing news but not surprising.
This is the update posted on the new Bluebell website:
"We are very sad to announce that ‘Mayflower’ will no longer be visiting us for this Gala. ‘Union of South Africa’ is still coming and all other events over the weekend will go ahead as planned."

It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

Two websites? That's a bit confusing.
I did notice the circled link on the page, but couldn't access it as every time I tried I got a 'server timeout' message and I assumed that the link further down the page went to the same page.

    See here: https://www.bluebell-railway.com/whats_on/autumn-steam-gala/

Thus far, I haven't seen anything about a replacement - might be clearer when the operational duties come round as too whether the event has been recast in anyway.

Disappointed, but hardly a surprise. I was going to come to see the B1, so I think I will be putting my feet up that weekend.
