    Is that the Cauldron Lowe branch? Didn't m&cr flog off the track because the quarries are likely to merge and thus only need the one yard?

    Yes that is Cauldon Lowe and MCR did sell the track - why is another question. There was a lot of change in the cement/quarry industry at the time and no desisions looked likely in the near future about rail traffic.
    At least CVR managed to retain and then own the track as far as Ipstones.

    When I heard 33021 was going to be in a red livery I did not expect to like it but when I saw her on Wednesday I realised I was wrong and it looked fantastic. Looks even better in your photos.

    Funnily enough, I actually made it all the way from Froghall to Cheddleton and back. I just always seemed to be in the wrong place or made a balls-up of the footage.

    Sadly, no such excuse. Public transport is too terrible to bother with for the sake of a couple of beers. Now, if only there was a railway line they could reopen...

    More fettling of the Bruff at Chedd today. Almost everything sorted and could be out on the line shortly. Road use would need an MOT and whether that is worthwhile is another question.

  15. It was painted in this Post Office red scheme back in the late 1990s, I've got photos of it on some Maidstone-Tonbridge shuttles with a 4MT 2-6-4T on the other end. It's nice to see it back in this livery. Something different from yet another diesel in BR blue, as it was for a while.

    It doesn't seem to be able to make up its mind what its name is, mind...
