    Some nice pictures.

I took my grandmother down for a train ride today as she was down to stay... It was nice to see the railway so busy on a weekday in October (albeit it was half term).

It's also good to see things from a customer's perspective every so often, rather than from volunteering!

That might be worth a visit next week. New motive power is rare nowadays.

Lovely bright and cold day here at Wansford :) Pleased to report that Thomas now seems to be fully functioning - putting up some splendidly noisy displays running up and down the platform, to the joy of the smaller enthusiasts :D

Time for some 'Jinty' haulage now.

47406 in perfect setting sunlight heading away from Castor. Nice to see her on ex-LNWR metals with a befitting rake of Mk1's 47406.JPG

What with the supposed test runs for 7029 cancelled, I thought it best to spend my day off grabbing a few more shots of 47406 before she heads back to the GCR. Once again, the last shot was the best, heading away from Castor towards Wansford in the setting sunlight, running late so the sun was lower than on Sunday. DSC_3450 (2).JPG

That was Steve. Tim was grinding the welds Steve had done, and the rest of us were working on the brake van in the shed....we were trying to get that van fit for the 8th, but it's looking unlikely now :(

I was also at the NVR yesterday. My last visit was...well....let's just say that I had a ride behind a Swedish 2-6-4T. It was nice to meet a Jinty after quite a while as well.

Load of wheels with Riley's stickers on them sitting where Newstead used to stand today; three axles for 73050's tender and three axles for "Tinkerbell" :) (the Danish 0-6-0T). All looking workshop-fresh. Work seemed to be going on in the workshop too.
