Right. Forget all this Saint new build / Duke of Gloucester nonsense this is where you should be donating!

Dig deep and give Stuart your hard earned pre-Brexit pension cash. NOW!

The man is a genius. Get the patterns made, use them and sell them on (presumably for a fat profit) and this will fund the next bit of restoration work. Why didn't anyone else think of this???

Well I think you need to start us off and donate first ! (and not 10p, needs to be something like £500 )

Who exactly will be buying these second hand patterns ?
I suppose the next Just Giving scheme will be for the copper to build a boiler.

    Bob.

going to be a couple of thousand at least plus I am going to carry out voluntary engineering support for a minimum 30 hours a week. Will probably transfer the deeds of my house to Stuart so hopefully he can build up his personal fleet of steam locos and sleeping carriages...

Whoever suggested a copper boiler is being cheeky. The Group Engineer has specified stainless steel so it doesn't rust!

High arsenic copper might bring the restoration to a sudden halt.....

    Cheers, Neil

PS Mrs R isn't too struck on the original first prize!

I have to admit I laughed as hard as anyone at some of the posts above, but this is all a bit harsh on the infamous Mr Reeder, surely? He certainly has plenty of passion and drive, even if it is not matched by long-term commitment or the ability to see things to completion.
