I should think the Merc driver is feeling a little 'tender' to be able to do that

 

On another forum it is stated that its a private road to The Golf Club & that in the event of mis use of the crossing membership can be suspended

 

Depending on the approach, if the road was rising up to the crossing. Then the Merc driver could claim he/she didn't see the engine, on account of it being blue and the sky being cloud free and blue too, thus masking the engine......

 

I believe he has already been hung drawn and quartered on another Forum.

 

Suspending his golf club membership would probably upset him more than a fine.

 

He was hoping for a hole in one, just not like that

 

Maybe he was expecting to get a Birdie.

It's nice to see it confirmed, but really, apart from the rantings of a handful of nutjobs on some non-rail forums, was there really any doubt?

 

I hope the Police take some action, I imagine that his insurers are waiting for a claim from the NNR

It would be interesting to see the value claims made by NR/TOC's following Bridge Strikes & Level Crossing incidents - and Heritage Railways

Maybe the driver and fireman can claim for whiplash

 

In all seriousness could there be grounds for a claim from the NNR crew?

Whiplash occurs when there is a sudden acceleration or deceleration. I don't think the Y14 (still went to type J15) velocity changed very rapidly as a result of the impact. Thankfully

I absolutely, utterly despair...
