Even better a well tank on 2 coaches, like 30585 on 23rd May 2010.

The Black 5 heads back to Southall on November 24th (an atrocious weather day on the coast) so only a record shot, and an example of unrebuilt Bulleid visibility issues. IMG_0240A.jpg IMG_0246.JPG

Would be very appropriate as 30541 was used on the Swanage Branch on many occasions.
I believe it was allocated to Bournemouth Shed from October 1953 until January 1963.

Plus, if it can be afforded, the visit of IoWSR's O2 for use with our 3 dual braked coaches?
The line through Wareham was opened in 1847 so 2022 would mark the 175th anniversary although, I suspect, another LSWR themed event had better wait until the future of the T3 is sorted.

Is the Q the last class of loco that has worked the line in SR/BR times but has not run in preservation times, apart from the N?

We’re yet to have a 75000 standard down at Swanage in preservation days. If I was feeling mischievous, I could also say we need a visit from the new-build 3MT before the set is completed too.

And 75079, the Mid Hants' 75000, actually visited Swanage (see Swanage Railway in colour rear cover). Unfortunately, we're a few years off from being able to think about a visit from this engine. 75069, soon to return to traffic at the Severn Valley was a bit of a nomad and did spend a while allocated to 71B Bournemouth in 1959 and also at Eastleigh for the last three years of its life. Did it visit Swanage during that time? I'd be interested to know. If not, there's time to make amends! I'd love to see one of these locos on the line.

75079 tender has been back to Swanage, behind Class 5 73129 for the 40 years End of Southern Steam Gala!

I look at that photo and just think ‘all those lost carriage sidings and space at Swanage’.

Maybe the railway has found that long needed pot of gold!

As this is looking into the future, perhaps the hire of one visitor, S15 499 in original build condition!
