  4. OK, Thanks Robin.

Although the PLC is understandably not ready to commit to any firm arrangement for using the loco if it stays, will they at least (a) confirm that it can stay if the consortium raises enough cash by the deadline, and (b) state exactly how much cash they want in order to sell to the consortium rather than whoever outside the family has already made an offer? And did I see somewhere that the offer from outside was £150k>

Good to see you can get the timetable & loco roster as a pdf, why cant it be shown on the website that way rather than as a link?

Is that a high intensity lamp by the smokebox on 7822? Is that part of the normal WSR equipment?

Yes Tom it is during the hours of darkness. This part of the country is particularly dark at night as there is no sky glow from nearby cities/large towns and the countryside is rather sparsely populated so there is little other light. We run over 2 open level crossings in the countryside at line speed, 4 others at reduced speed and several well used foot crossings. It is therefore essential that oncoming trains are visible to users of those crossings hence the additional carrying of lamps of greater intensity than the traditional ones.

  11. WSR Gala Planning Team have issued an update on their Facebook news page to say they're hoping to have Odders fit for the second half of tomorrow's diagram, i.e. the 2.30pm from Minehead and the 4.30pm from Bishops Lydeard.

    Keep everything crossed!

Well, the two oldest & I went to BL for the 13.30. Before boarding we enjoyed a visit to the TMRG where we all had a go at the shunting layout - many thanks gents

Raveningham Hall was in good form for the run to Minehead. The boys went to the beach while I visited Readers Halt. The Turntable Cafe provided the obligatory Sausage Roll for middle son and a rather 'strange' mocha to keep us going on the 1630 behind Foxcote Manor. She was in fine form heading up the hill to Crowcombe.

While the interior condition of the coaches was fine - and as always on the WSR, on train toilets were clean, all but the recentky repainted vehicles were coated in an 'fake tan' covering, I suspect brake dust

So, I suggest that having a look at the outside of the coaches needs to be a priority to make the trains look smart for 2019
