Seats still available in all classes when I checked earlier today. Shame I have a prior engagement.

    Enjoy your weekend Victor.

Kendal had snow last night so Tebay and Shap should be covered being higher up so driving on the backroads could be difficult if it doesn’t rain or warm up before Saturday.

80 eh? And I thought I was old at 74. But I am definitely a grumpy cynical old fart!

I assume you mean 35018, unless WCRC have mysteriously uncovered Axminster?

No problem with chasing over the Coal Road with one of these then! A quantum better than my 4x4.

Well yes ; but what would you do in the same circumstances ?

-Having experienced a diesel piloted trip 12 months earlier due to a TPWS issue with 60163 !
-Unsure it will be fixed at Hellifield.
-Knowing Bolton is the last opportunity to bail out before Appleby at the earliest because the platform isn't used at Hellifield.

It's got to be a difficult decision and in the circumstances sadly the wrong one.
Personally if I'd paid for the trip I'd have stuck with it but what would you do ? Don't overlook that several of the regular 'timers' on NP have bailed out in the past when finding a diesel on the rear of their train.

Hopefully @Davo will have better luck next time though he does seem to have the knack of picking the bad ones :(

Personally I’d stay on as you paid for a day out but that’s my opinion . The comment was meant to be taken light heartedly hence the winking emoji.Been on two Fellsman tours myself that have had diesel pilot because of fire risks but still stayed on as it’s a day out to me .

Considerable digression on here and personal irrelevant anecdotes have also been removed. Try to keep focused please.

Was it masquerading as Bodmin and when they started to strip it they found 34018 stamped on the frames lol, Any way, i'm sure that those who have booked will enjoy a " proper engine" one that starts with a 3 , not a 4, but please you northerner 's have played with her long enough, can we have our engine back please :):)

:Banghead: "You northerners" have a care sir with such remarks. .....................:Shifty:

As for "can we have our engine back"?...............................NO
But we are gracious and reasonable, if you are very good and behave you can come and have a look at it doing some proper work. Get some weight on the hook and show it a few hills.:D
