I've said it before and I'll say it again, a thread is allowed to go quiet for a period of time - most other railways' do!

Agreed, but this thread has the habit of awakening in a quite dramatic manner. :D

I wonder who is represented by the sleeping dragon sitting on their hoarded pile of gold? Not the WSRA surely?

I'm sorry but if someone has the time and ability to post on here then they also have the time and ability to contact the office at Williton by phone or e mail, volunteer to update the blog on a regular basis and everyone will be a little bit happier. Health, fitness or any other disability will not stop that!

I thought that the barriers at Seaward way crossing were due to be updated this closed season.

Whilst there are some things that can be done from a remote distance, I feel that updating blogs/social media etc. isn't really one of them. To write an update about something, really, you need to be there to know what's going on. If you're not, then someone's going to have to email you the pictures and write a little about what's going on, at which point, thy might as well write the blog themselves.

That said, there are things that can be done from a remote distance. I write the rosters for the Guards/TTIs; all I need for that is access to HOPs, email and a phone. Editors of newsletters is another, as you get submissions from a variety of people and again all you need is a computer.

I'm sure other people can think of other suggestions, but there's only so much of the admin/computer stuff you can do for a railway without attending regular meetings or being on site.

I would like to thank the person/s responsible for the latest update to the 9351 re-assembly blog.

I particularly liked the technical explanations given in the descriptions of the work undertaken.
