    5Z10 departs Carnforth 1430 and 5Z65 doesn't arrive at Carnforth until 1720.

    Look a bit closer though.

    5Z65 arrives Carnforth D&UGL 14:18.
    5Z10 departs Carnforth D&UGL 16:38.

The two paths overlap at Carnforth by some two hours.

Maybe I'm putting two and two together and getting 60163. But it looks too much of a coincidence to me.

All will be revealed tomorrow but it looks to me as though the stock for the test run comes from Carnforth and meets up with Tornado at Ferryhill. The test run goes via the Tyne Valley back to Carnforth and then Tornado hitches a ride with the stock for the Thunderer to Doncaster. Quite clever actually.

'Information received' suggests that 60163 left the Wensleydale this evening.

5Z 10 is timed for 95mph. Could be amended if Tornado tags along?

Could it be possible that the Wensleydale visit was a means for WCR crews to familiarise themselves with Tornado?

If the A1 trust have changed their TOC then it would make sense that the stock from Saturday would be used for Sunday.

Can't see a move on RTT from Carnforth - Doncaster (not even for 60163) other than the one for Saturday's ECS and that departs before
Tornado arrives at 10A! Interesting times :)

I thought that but then had it pointed out to me that the move to Doncaster sits in Carnforth until 1635, and the move from Ferryhill arrives at Carnforth U &DGL at 1418.

No doubt they will. Shame none of the moves pass any railcams. As you say, interesting times :)

With 37669 and stock heading south down the ECML and Tornado heading north I would say that puts the diesel at the back for the return to Carnforth.

Aren't the weird moves to Preston and back something to do with the CME. The 86 L/E from Carnforth to Preston and the steam loco L/E back to Carnforth?
