Any clues as to when the standard four may next be out and about?

What's the steam line up looking like this year?

7827, 75014 presumably all year.... is 4555 expected back? Whats the state of play with the S160? Goliath not this year?

No beer fest this year I notice, at least it's not on the website.

As someone who has a thing for LMS machines I don't mind it in Red, it's something a bit different isn't it? :)

More to the point is it reliable as it seems S160's have reliability issues

I guess the experience with 5197 on the line last year the workshop guys learned much about that type of loco so any foibles - I believe all locos have them - will be anticipated.

Well, the one on the WSR was 'troublesome' and those responsible for it seemed to think that it was what you expected from them

NYMR is kill or cure for some locos.

Or, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.....

2253 was respectable performer when it first ran on the NYMR. No reason to suspect that it will be any different this time around and I'm looking forward to the chance of getting re-acquainted with it. 6046, on the other hand.......The less said, the better.

6046 has proved more than capable when maintained and operated correctly. As has 5197 which has also visited a few places since her return in 2017.

I guess the Manor could be covering for 75014 if a new cylinder casting is needed ?

6046 may be a capable loco but arguably it had a reliability and aavailability that would rival the Leader when it was on the NYMR

I am told that S160's had a design life measured in days.

Given however that many ran for over 30 years after WW2 ended I would have thought that the operators would have addressed the reliability issues...............
