It's not the stability of the camera that is the problem but the stability of the photographer that is the crucial factor ! ;)

    ********************BREAKING NEWS********************

The planned Pacer bonfire at Neville Hill in November will have to be postponed............we need the Pacers a while longer....................2 more years longer.:Banghead:

It is reported on TV news that Northern Rail:Grumpy: are having to delay the introduction of new trains for 2 years:Arghh:
Why ?? I hear you ask............because station platforms aren't long enough to accommodate 6 car trains.
You couldn't make it up. We have the trains, but they'll have to stay under the dust sheets for 2 years

So a plea to any other rail regions that have some decent equipment they could cascade down on to us poor people in t'north. We'll take just about anything because we REALLY do want rid of the Pacers. Those 170 Turbos are welcome.

The devil is in the detail, and the Pacer fan club may not want to celebrate just yet.

Victor you may be slightly relieved in the fact that I think the plan is to still introduce the new trains but not to full length.
So 5 coaches instead of 6 sort of thing.

However I may be wrong, I often am.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that with the aid of GPS the doors on some coaches can be locked out at the shorter platforms. Only problem being the passengers, who never listen to announcements or learn from previous experience, would still try to open the locked doors, then complain because they were not allowed to alight at their station......

It seems the plan is to swap 3-car EMUs intended for Leeds services with some of the 4-car sets intended for the North West.

Does selective door opening not work north of Watford?

I live on a route where we have plenty of short platforms and long trains where various numbers of doors open. Maybe I am being a bit stupid but how hard is it to fit SDO?

David, that's not a very nice thing to post while I'm having my breakfast.:Shifty:

I was on a 'refurbed' 140 yesterday into Leeds :Banghead: the rain was coming in through the gaps in the doors............and it had been refurbed.:Grumpy:
When I say refurbed that's probably stretching it a bit..........the seats had been recovered.

You lucky devil !! You were sampling an early form of air conditioning - now rarely sampled - with your experience showing the use of keeping the air moist. ;):Updated:
