I passed 46521 on the outskirts of Keighley last night- I presume she was on her way to the KWVR.

Presumably "uphill" after her two trips to Carlisle and back, i.e. smokebox first out of Keighley, tender first coming back down from Oxenhope.

Had a couple of hours at the Gala this morning. Really excellent despite (typical) poor weather. A bit of timetable "slippage", that's nothing new and doesn't detract from the enjoyment. Seemed well attended, including many well wrapped up gentlemen of my vintage! 46521 looked superb and lifted a full train out of Keighley without a trace of a slip. 78022 also looking magnificent being polished to perfection in Haworth yard. Sadly I couldn't stay to see her run this p.m. Bahamas shone brightly in the gloom and well turned out "regulars" 41241/43924/45212 all added to the spectacle. Well worth the ticket price, hope the rest of the weekend is just as good. Well done K&WVR, again.

For those that don't already know 45212 is facing downhill smoke box first into Keighley.

All back on time by late afternoon. Excellent decision to swap 41241 and 46521 turns over for one run to enable the pairing of 78022+46521 on 1410 from Keighley and 1450 return.

One of those days today when the weather actually played ball..... After a rather wet start, the light and weather turned rather nice for the afternoon.

As per previous events, we're producing the KWVR 'Spring Steam Gala 2019' DVD & Blu-Ray, details are available here.

In a very lucky patch of sun this afternoon, LMS 2MT No.46521 and BR 2MT No.78022 are seen passing Woodhouse Lane near Ingrow West.

For the same reason that a person poses the same question in 2 separate threads ?

So that Dad and I can stay over night somewhere in the middle and enjoy both? Worked a treat, although the weather this morning has been foul! Hopefully that's it for precipitation though and we can enjoy the rest of the day.

I know a fair few people who've managed to do both, even seen a couple or people today I saw yesterday by chance, so swings and roundabouts. I appreciate it must be frustrating if you only have one day of "leave" per weekend, but it made going away for the weekend viable for us, if it was either or, especially with the weather, we might not have ventured out at all.
