Hope it's OK to start a new thread specially for this tour.
I see the confirmed times are now on the UK Railtours website.
    Piccadilly dep. 07.55
    Stratford arr. 12.56
    Stratford dep. 16.35
    Piccadilly arr. 22.20
Nothing showing on RTT or OTT yet though I assume they wont until next week anyway.

Booked this for a special birthday last year. Didn't expect my special birthday year to last so long.

Anyone know why the tour is setting out off platform 8 a bay platform at Man Picc, is Tornado been dragged in the bay platform by diesel 1st. The only through platforms at Man Picc are 13 and 14. I always thought steam comes on these through platforms always it must be the starting point of the tour all I can think than setting out of a bay platform.

Yes i know in a way ive answered my own question about it going into a bay platform i just wanted someone elses opinion who may be travelling on the bard of avon. But what im also asking is tornado going to be dragged in to man picc plat 8 bay platform by a diesel? Like the manouvers at kings x sometimes with steam traction.

Just that from my 1st guess thought it might have come to Man Picc via Newton le Willows and in plat 13 but that not so.

No chance of pathing that after 7am. Looking at the evening arrival time it probably could late at night but even then it's much safer going for the termini platforms.

The through platforms at Manchester Piccadilly are 13 and 14. Since the tour is heading out through Stockport is makes sense for the train to reverse diesel hauled into one of the bay platforms. Getting 300+ passengers on board takes time, and these days 13 and 14 are always very busy, so I doubt that 13 was ever an option.

How do the crew turn the loco at Stratford on Avon? I just ask this cos I've never done a tour to Stratford on Avon.

I think they might use the Hatton triangle.

There's two possibilities - as above - the Hatton triangle which means the loco going to Dorridge to reverse or a light engine trip to Tyseley and back as happened with 34046 a few years back after arriving from London.

Are we going to have a class 67 tail gunner as far as crewe? And also something i thought of has a A1 ever run on the shrewsbury to wolverhampton G.W.R. or this this a 1st, on this line i wouldent be sure of but the G.C.R. ran from wallasey and chester to wrexham central itjust makes me wonder did L.N.E.R. locos come that far down in B.R. days before 1968.
