    Good morning
    Thanks for letting me join.
I’ve heard from a usually reliable source that the beautiful little 0-6-0 ‘Lyndsay’ at Carnforth is moving to new ownership and pastures new.
I’d love to see this machine steam again so if anyone knows where it is going, please let me know.
    Thanks. James.

In case anyone is wondering who or what Linsay is here's a photo of it in its working days. Lindsay is the only survivor of several similar locos from the Wigan Coal & Iron Co. and was restored in the late 60's/early 70's after many years in a Preston scrapyard. He/she remained stored at Carnforth after Steamtown closed. If this story is true then it is very welcome.

Having read the latest SR, I wonder if there may be a hint of truth about this? David Smith owns Aysgarth Station, and is intending laying track for a short distance, and occasionally using a small steam locomotive...

    I forgot the date. Lol
No. Not an April Fool. One would not joke about seriously nice bits of kit such as this.
    Its a lovely little engine.

Lindsey has always been my lottery win loco, as it had a full page spread in a train book I had as a kid 20 odd years go. But given I don't actually play the lottery, someone else restoring her (or even just making her visible to the public) would suit me just fine.

I’ve always been the same, but for me it was memories of seeing it at Carnforth when I was a nipper. It was always 50/50 between Lindsey or Glenfield!

Saw her in steam just the once, 9th June 1991. 48151 was running Carnforth - Barrow shuttles and Carnforth staged an open day. Lindsay was running up and down the yard while 70000 + 71000 were running passenger shuttles on the demo line. Would be great to see her in steam once more.

Re: Glenfield - Originally on loan to the RSR I believe as a static museum piece, but sadly won't fit in the building, due to the high extent of the winding mechanism.

Re: Lindsey - Still at the old Carnforth Steamtown late January, in the main shed, looking remarkably tidy on the face of things. :)

I don’t know, but if it is, it’s moved this week - it was still at Carnforth last Saturday (12th).
