On 12th December, or thereabouts, ex-LMSR Ventilated Goods Van M187085 [built 1930] was loaded at Swanage Railway's road/rail access siding at Norden by Vic Haines Transport Ltd.
It was being transported to it's new home in Worcestershire apparently.

Spotted on the A120 heading towards the M11 this afternoon. It looks like the ex-NNR one recently advertised; anyone know where it's off to?

I had heard rumours of a crane bound for Whitwell & Reepham, ex Colne Valley. Could this be it?

Seen at Kidderminster Railway Museum today, I believe this is GWR Tool Van 14984 formerly at Tyseley.

Mm, I asked many years ago if it was possible to purchase it.......would have meant that The 813 Fund would own all three GWR iron tool vans.

The van is now owned by The Kidderminster Railway Museum Trust. Most of the original fittings: small hand cranes, workbenches, stove is still present. Long term renovation project.

16T ballast plough brakevan (Oyster) 993707 arrived at the North Norfolk Railway 9/4/19. It has moved from the Churnet Valley Railway, but left there a week or so earlier, having had a short spell in Reid Freight's yard.

    Bodiam Begins!

32670 will be leaving the K&ESR this morning by road to Norfolk for the start of its overhaul. It is expected to pass through Tenterden High Street mid-morning.

Some photos of it on its way would be useful.

Graham Hukins from the Terrier Trust will be posting later to publicly launch the restoration appeal announced to K&ESR staff and members at the staff/volunteers evening a short time ago.

    Go Bodiam and Knowle!

The plan is for Bodiam and Knowle to carry a variety of liveries over the next 10 years.

Do drop something into the appeal pot on the Terrier Trust website and tell us what you like...

No I do not currently volunteer
Have to disagree, 32670 took a lot of work to prepare it for its re paint, much rubbing back, filling, further rubbing back to get the finish right I was the person that did virtually all of the prep and the base and final coats Meg did the lining out , BR blackberry black actually suits these vintage engines and when lined out, I prefer it to the other liveries it can carry

One to me, as I was expecting someone to bite and you have the honour of being the first martin. Don't the emoji's give you the hint, that I wasn't being particularly serious...........? :Chillout:

What's more in all seriousness there are plenty of Terriers preserved to cover quite a number of the liveries they were turned out in. So how about one turned out in Great Western green as they acquired a pair, or London & South Western green again as they also acquired at least one, as a couple of examples. OK I don't think any of the survivors ran in either GW or LSW colours......

One of the amazing parts of the long, long history of these special, special locomotives is the variety of life stories and liveries, particularly from 1900 to 1960.
