    Nice one John, that's me in the field in the distance. I did wonder how close you were to being bowled by the unit. It looked pretty close from where I was stood!!;)

    No I do not currently volunteer
    I've never travelled behind 48151 - wrong side of the country - but I hope to put that right some day. I've got huge respect for this loco, which seems to just soldier on and deal with whatever is asked of it. This is particularly impressive because it was not designed for the kind of work it gets in preservation.

    In one way it's arguably more at home working railtours than the express locos are. Steam railtours often get looped to let faster trains pass; which was exactly what happened to freight trains in the days of steam.
