It may be, but as signalman on the day, dealing directly with matters, a rather higher standard of care about posting on forums applies than to random speculation (accurate or not).

    kind regards

An interesting working today at Minehead. The 11:00 ex Bishops Lydeard arrived with a pair of class 33s. <BJ>

No idea what that's all about. Another thing I've just noticed is that 6430 has been turned and now faces Minehead. I assume this happened on the Norton triangle.

Then don't post at all about happenings when you are on duty!

An extreme, and rather foolish post, with respect. It must be obvious that it is a rather different matter to post ‘here’s a picture of a loco’ as opposed to ‘the cause of this incident / occurrence / loco change was this.’

If all of those who posted on Nat Pres did so with a little more discretion, we all might do rather better.

I use this forum to provide, where I can, helpful material about the events and doings of the West Somerset Railway. If you, or others, choose to use it for childish jibes when sensible points are made to you, then do not be surprised if you find yourself ignored.

Meanwhile, back at the Railway today...

I do not think people should post when they on duty, as it is mostly inappropriate. Some people are too vociferous.

Looks like the return Quantock Belle has been attached to the 1700 ex Minehead. Is that what usually happens on Sundays to save a path?

It's not what usually happens except in the yellow timetable, but as trains have been retimed because they cannot pass at Blue Anchor presently it certainly saves a path.

First Born & I went to the WSR today, starting at BL on the 10.15, & scareing the life out of Robin (Oh God, its them...........)

We got off at Blue Anchor for a brisk walk to Dunster where we picked up the 2x33's on the 11.00 ex BL

Sadly on the level run to Minehead there wasnt much chance to show what 3100 HP could do BUT to put everyone out of their misery I am told that it was a positioning run to put a 33 at each end of the line - the other worked back at 1600

In the shop we picked up a 'Yellow Walk Map' for the Minehead Area & did some more walking along the Coast Path before heading for the 1430 behind Odney Manor & home. Like all trains well loaded but not packed.

Sadly the Queue for the Styles Ice Cream was too long, & the Turntable Cafe was out so we headed to the Jubilee Cafe. There ws an issue with the Gents which the retail manager - just the first person I managed to collar was keen to resolve.

    Another good day out.

Sloppy reporting as expected from the local BBC. "West Somerset Railway decided to close in January" is not the whole story... it always closes in January anyway.
That photo of 53808 looks like it has a rake of non-WSR stock, in a station that's not on the WSR, with what looks like a modern signal and a gantry I do not recognise! Correct me if I'm wrong!

Well I do not know the WSR that well but the photo looks like Minehead station to me and AFAIK that is a station on the WSR. It's my pleasure to correct you, sir.

Its an unusual telephoto shot, but it is Minehead. The lower part of the platform starters bracket, the colour-light inner home and the semaphore section signal are in shot.
